Keeping your electric car charged is a big part of maintenance for those living the gas-free life, so Tesla is now bringing its Wall Connectors to offices — and it's installing them for free.
Tesla introduced this month the Workplace Charging program, which brings electric vehicle charging units to office buildings, so that employees can get a charge while they work.
The program gives employees an easy way to juice up their cars while they sit in a parking lot for eight hours during the workday.

After all, this is supposed to be an office perk, not a community charging station. It's unclear how many charging stations in total will be donated.
Also, it's important to note your Chevy Bolt or other electric car won't charge at the Wall Connector -- it's for Tesla vehicles only.
To get the charging program up and running at your office, you need to suggest a site. This is basically an extension of Tesla's charging partner program.
In addition, Tesla announced an initiative to use its Powerwall batteries and solar power to cool classrooms in Hawaii. This is yet another area that the company is targeting for its future growth.

From the announcements, it's clear Tesla is plugging away to bring alternative energy sources to schools, offices, and far beyond. Perhaps someday we'll all rely on Tesla for our battery power needs. For now, however, the rollout of this technology still appears to be rather slow.
