It's not just dogs who love a good scratch on the belly, you know. Koalas can also be quite partial to it, when it comes from a close friend.
One koala in particular seems fond of tummy rubs, and that koala is the adorably-named Wolverine. He recently got the rub-down of a lifetime from his mate Mandie Lee, a photographer who works at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary in Queensland, Australia.

Lee wants to educate as many people as possible on the importance of caring for koalas and protecting their habitat. This kind of adorable content seems like a great place to start.
"We need to protect our beautiful koalas. They are such precious animals and I want everyone to see them as I do," she said on Instagram.

Speaking about Wolverine with Mashable via email, Lee said "I fell madly in love with him the moment I seen him come out of the pouch. He's always been a different koala he loves attention from all the keepers... He loves his food as you can tell from his fat tummy."
Divine as he is, Wolverine isn't the only adorable koala in Lee's flock. There's this dude, J, who is currently looking for a koala girlfriend if his behaviour here is anything to go by.

So. Much. Cuteness.
"Every koala has their own personality. Koalas here on the Gold Coast are are risk of becoming extinct in as little as 5-10 years and it's my job to show the world just how lucky we are to have such unique animals," said Lee.
