BOGO 50%:Now through August 30, booking a roundtrip (or two one-way flights) at Southwest unlocks a free flight for a friend anytime you both flybetween Jan. 8 and March 8, 2024.
If you had taken advantage of Southwest's iconic BOGO free Companion Pass deal back in April, you and a friend would probably be on vacation right now.
Southwest is giving you a second chance to bring a friend (or two, or three) to a dream destination for free. If you both play your cards right, it's technically a 50% off setup — just during the winter this time.
This Companion Pass allows a second guest to fly for free any time you fly between Jan. 8 and March 8, 2024. To any fair pair of besties, that means splitting the cost of the one fare you do have to cover, and thatmeans half-price tickets for you both. ("Free" does not include taxes and fees from $5.60 one-way.)

It also unlocks with the purchase of two one-way flights. You don't have to take that trip alone, of course — anyone who accompanies you just won't get free ticket treatment. After the qualifying flight is booked, Southwest will send an email with the steps to take to add the Companion Pass to your Rapid Rewards account. If you're not a member of Southwest's reward program yet, joining is free.
You can take up to three different companions within the promotional period. Each pair of passengers can decide if they want to go abroad or not — the Companion Pass applies to any destination serviced by Southwest, both within the U.S. and internationally. And, as always, when you fly with Southwest, passengers get two free checked bags and free iMessaging on board.
