TikTok has launched a Discord server, where TikTok-enthusiasts can chat about all things...TikTok.
Most widely used in the gaming world, Discord has been favoured by gamers since its launch in 2015, championing voice chat rooms, and text-based threads. Since then, Discord has evolved, bringing more like-minded communities together. During the pandemic, in particular, the platform became a more commonplace form of communication, even forging itself as a key player in the creator economy. It's no wonder TikTok wants in.
TikTok teased its pending presence on Discord on Wednesday, with a tweet reading, "the all-new TikTok server coming soon".
It's just apps on apps on apps.

At the time of writing, TikTok's Discord community has 1,264 members, which is modest by Discord standards but likely to increase.
"This server’s just like your For You feed: it’s made for you, some of its comments are spicy, and your parents have no idea what it is," TikTok's Discord page reads. It currently has five moderators from TikTok itself, and a set of rules that include no NSFW content and no purchasing crypto.
SEE ALSO:What is Discord, the popular community chat app?Within the Discord space, TikTok has chats for introductions, sharing individual TikToks, requesting TikTok support, and — most interestingly — a "game room", which aligns with TikTok's burgeoning interest in gaming. More recently, the app has reportedly been testing a desktop streaming software called TikTok Live Studio, which could let creators stream live gaming footage. Look out, Twitch.
