Pichai had pursued Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at the institute and even earned a silver medal for his performance. His wife, too, is an alumni of IIT-K.

During his last visit almost a year ago, he had addressed students in a Delhi University college where, besides revealing that he'd dreams of being a cricketer, he said that "India is uniquely positioned. There's tremendous interest in software development compared to other countries".
Besides the campus visit, Pichai will also host a Google event in the capital on Jan. 4. The tech giant is planning an announcement around small and medium businesses (SMBs) in India.
Meanwhile, before heading for work, Pichai was seen vacationing with his family in Jaipur.
