When will fast food companies stop Frankensteining our food?

Taco Bell just announced that it's one-upping its sister chain KFC by creating a taco shell made out of fried chicken. KFC previously introduced the world to the "Double Down," which consisted of two pieces of fried chicken in place of sandwich buns, but the Naked Chicken Chalupa is just way cooler.

The Naked Chicken Chalupa consists of crispy fried chicken forced in the shape of a taco shell, and the inside of the taco is decked out with lettuce, diced tomatoes, cheddar cheese and creamy avocado ranch, because no fast food concoction is complete without some form of ranch dressing.

According to Taco Bell, the chicken shell is made with 4 ounces of all-white meat chicken, Mexican spices and seasoning.。

“Something this delicious yet different is bound to ruffle some feathers; some might even cluck their tongues at it,” Marisa Thalberg, chief marketing officer at Taco Bell Corp said in a press release. “However, we feel confident that once our fans get a taste of the Naked Chicken Chalupa they are going to understand exactly why this is our next big, fun and craveable innovation, following in the footsteps of the Doritos Locos Tacos five years ago and the Quesalupa just last year.”

The Naked Chicken Chalupa is set to launch nationwide on Jan. 26 for $2.99. It will also be available in a combo box with a Doritos Locos Taco, crunchy taco and medium drink for $5.。
