On a recent episode of Jeopardy!, everyone learned an important lesson about the proper use of the word "gangsta."

When asked for a song by Coolio from Dangerous Minds, Nick eagerly answered, "What is 'Gangster's Paradise Lost.'" It vaulted him into first place. That is, until the judges reevaluated his answer, and Alex Trebek informed him that the correct answer was actually "Gangsta's Paradise Lost." And with that he fell back to second place.
Jeopardy! later issued an explanation of why Nick's answer wasn't technically correct, and it's a work of quiet beauty.

What a sad day for Nick, but what a great day for us -- because his facial expressions and disappointed head shake upon learning the news are truly perfect.
May you now go forth into this year armed with the knowledge to always keep it gangsta.
UPDATE: Jan. 2, 2018, 3:58 p.m. EST Jeopardy's official statement was added.
