The model and cook book author tweeted about the strange nature of fame in a late night conversation with followers. Her remarks seemed to be spurred by the news broke that Kim Kardashian, a friend of Teigen's, was held at gunpoint and robbed.

"Celebs are supposed to love you guys while also knowing you'd make a meme of our dead bodies to get retweets," she said, explaining that the perception of fame is different than the "weird little world" of being a celebrity is actually like.

"No one is begging you for sympathy," she told a Twitter user who asked if people should feel sorry about the millions of dollars robbed in jewelry from Kardashian. "I know the game plan is to naturally hate celebrities."
Teigen expressed that she understood the complicated dynamics, saying she would be the same if she hadn't had the opportunity "to see both sides." She also made it clear that she did not see celebrities as "special snowflakes."
"I just miss empathy, in general, for everyone," she said.
