Kardashian West's attorneys, Marty Singer and Andrew Brettler, filed the suit after demanding that the website retract the stories and issue an apology. But after no response, they took things to court.
In court documents obtained by The Hollywood Reporter, Kardashian West's attorney, Andrew Brettler, filed a complaint against Media Take Outand its owner, Fred Mwangaguhunga.
"As if that ordeal were not awful enough, Defendants made it worse by publishing on the Website, only hours after the assault, that Kardashian faked the robbery and then committed insurance fraud by filing a false claim with her carrier."

In order to win the libel case, Kardashian West, a public figure, will have to prove that Media Take Outwillfully posted information they knew to be false.
"Defendants were reckless in disregarding the truth and purposefully avoided learning the true facts in an effort to commercially exploit Kardashian’s valuable image for advertising or trade purposes," the statement continues.
The statement cites headlines like, “New Evidence Suggests . . . KimKardashian ‘STAGED’ The Robbery . . . Just Like RYAN LOCHTE!! (Here Are The FACTS) #KimRobbery,” as evidence that the website published the information as facts rather than speculation with no credible sources. Well, besides, "people on social media."
