Female flyers rejoice -- air travel just got a little bit more bearable, thanks to one Indian airline.
Vistara, a domestic airline based out of Delhi's airport, just launched a new service that guarantees women won't have to take the middle seat on a crowded plane.
SEE ALSO:The FAA has been ordered to take another look at ever-shrinking airplane seat sizesIt's no secret that men are not always the most polite on public transportation. Any woman who's ever used a transit system could surely regale you with her own "manspreading" horror story. Thankfully, Vistara is giving female travelers a way to avoid that dreaded middle seat.
The company's Vistara Women Flyer program offers preferred seats to women and provides baggage and transport assistance for women traveling alone. Customers can select their preferred seats during booking, and even if a woman does not pre-select, she would only be assigned a window or aisle seat.
That's not all -- staff with a #VistaraWomenFlyer Arrivals Assistance sign will also be available at the airport to help single female travelers book taxis, get their luggage, and escort them to the taxi stand. So solo female flyers won't need to worry about grabbing a cab alone at night if their flights are delayed.

"The heights that women around the world have scaled needs no validation," said Vistara senior vice president Deepa Chadha in an official statement. "Women are a major force that makes economies stronger and societies healthier."
The program is also completely optional, so women do not have to utilize services if they do not wish. Really, the only bad news about the program is it is currently only available in India. Vistara reportedly hopes to bring the program to other countries and international flights soon.
In the meantime, we can only hope the U.S. will take the hint and implement a similar program.
