HBO has released the first photos for Game of ThronesSeason 7, episode 5, "Eastwatch," which -- as we saw in the ominous teaser trailer -- will feature the Night King and his army of White Walkers on the move.
As The Hound revealed after his creepy vision in the season premiere, the wights are seemingly targeting the Night's Watch stronghold of Eastwatch-by-the-Sea, which is now being manned by Tormund and the Wildlings.
You wouldn't know it from these photos, though, since they mostly focus on the political intrigue going on between Daenerys, Jon, Tyrion, and Varys.
As we saw in the trailer, Varys and Tyrion are being sneaky sneakersons and talking behind Dany's back -- but what are they plotting?
There's wine involved, so you know it's serious.
Could it be that they're concerned about their Dragon Queen going off the deep end like her daddy, the "Mad King" Aerys Targaryen, who also had a penchant for burning people?
Tyrion is most assuredly shook after seeing the devastation caused by Drogon during the questionably-named "Loot Train Attack," which may have spelled doom for his brother Jaime (but probably didn't).
Would it be enough to make Tyrion turn on his queen? We don't buy it.
Meanwhile, Jon is wandering the cliffs at Dragonstone like a Westerosi Heathcliff, waiting for his secret auntcrushally to return from her deadly mission.
The promo for "Eastwatch" features an intriguing moment in which Jon comes face to face with Drogon for the first time, and we have a theory that it might signal his secret Targaryen heritage.
If Drogon treats Jon differently, when Dany's scaly offspring are generally super suspicious of interlopers, she's going to notice it.
Could this be the face of a woman who is wondering why her kid just did the dragon equivalent of taking candy from a stranger? Our survey says... maybe!
Elsewhere, here's Cersei in an unfamiliar bedchamber. It looks wildly different from her usual King's Landing quarters, which have a much more mediterranean vibe, but maybe she's been redecorating in preparation for winter?
Back in Oldtown, Sam and Gilly are still getting their research on. Considering Sam's recent dive into the Citadel's secret archives unearthed the cure for greyscale and a hidden cache of dragonglass under Dragonstone, we can't wait to see what useful plot device they'll discover next!
