Reports emerged Monday on social media that the HyperAdapt sneakers would cost a whopping $1,000. However, a Nike spokesperson has confirmed to。 Mashable。Mashable 。

that the sneakers will actually cost $720 and be released on Dec. 1, not Nov. 28, as some sources have been reporting.。

And while $720 is significantly lower than $1,000, the price still makes this one of the most expensive sneakers Nike has ever released. Again, the price is pretty extraordinary for a sneaker, but if you look at it in the same category as a smartphone or pair of high-end, Bluetooth headphones, the price for the tech-powered shoes may feel a bit more reasonable.。Still, the notion of having to now also keep an eye on your sneaker's charger level, in addition to all your other mobile devices, could prove to be the central challenge, beyond price, for the HyperAdapt getting traction.
