Meanwhile, Michigan State outlasted Marquette 69-60 as Tyler Walker scored 23 points. The Spartans (21-12) beat USC in the first round.

Connecticut handily defeated Saint Mary’s 70-55 behind a stifling defense that didn’t allow any Gaels player to score in double figures. The Huskies (27-8) crushed Iona 87-63.
