Donald Trump's not the only Trump going on rambling televised rants this week.
On Sunday morning, Eric Trump appeared on ABC's This Weekwhere he had what was pretty much an on-air meltdown. Most notably, he repeatedly lamented that his father "lost a fortune" running for president, insisted that Donald Trump recovered from COVID-19 because of vaccines he created (100 percent false), and demonized media outlets for accurately reporting that White House events were responsible for the coronavirus outbreak among senior administration officials.
Whew. It was a lotfor a such a short segment. And he immediately started to trend on Twitter.

At one point, Eric was asked to respond to the New York Times report that President Trump mixed public and private business. When Jon Karl pushed him on his father using his own chain of hotels and resorts to host special interest groups and foreign government agents in return for favors from the U.S. government, Eric avoided answering the question directly.
"My father has lost a fortune running for president," Trump responded. "He doesn't care. He wanted to do what was right. The last thing Donald Trump needs in the world is this job. He wakes up in the morning and he has to fight you, he has to fight the entire media, and he has to fight the Democrats, and he gets punched in the head every single day."
Trump also complained at length about the "lunacy of the radical left," despite Karl trying to steer him back to the original question.
"But back to the story," Karl interjected mid-rant, "How is it appropriate?"
"Let me finish!" Trump responded.
"OK, but answer the question," Karl said. "Please."
Trump then told Karl to "go Google Biden's house right now," insinuating that someone with a career in government can't afford a mansion like Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden's.
Karl once more asked Trump to address the New York Timesinvestigation, but he continued to deflect.
"How is that not, at the very least, a huge appearance of a conflict of interest?" Karl pressed.
"We're a hospitality company, we have tens of millions of people staying at our properties every single year," Trump said. "The New York Times is absolute fake news. All they want to do is take down my father."
He then claimed that the New York Timeshas dropped "some story they've been sitting on...to try and influence the election." He added that the media has become "the activist arm for the Democratic party," but his tirade was interrupted by Karl again trying to steer the conversation back to the Trump administration handing out favors in return for luxury hotel stays.
Eric Trump also seems to have a fundamental misunderstanding of what vaccines actually are. Earlier in the interview, he bragged that his father "pushed" for a COVID vaccine, and credited said "vaccine" for President Trump's recovery.

Crucially, the president did notreceive a COVID vaccine, as it doesn't exist yet despite the worldwide race to produce one. The president was actually treated with a cocktail of two experimental drugs and a heavy duty steroid, which he downplayed as "pretty much routine."
"It goes to speak how good some of these vaccines that are being created are and what my father's done on the vaccine front no one could have done," Eric Trump said. "My father literally started day one creating this vaccine, he worked to push this vaccine and now my father just took it and you can see how well he got over it."
"Can you clarify that?" Karl asked. "You said your father just took a vaccine?"
"When he was at Walter Reed, the medicines he was taking...I spoke to the man three times on Saturday and he sounded tremendous," Trump continued. "It goes to show the power of medicine in this country and how far we've come on COVID in the last six to seven months."
It appears that Trump is just as skilled at spreading dangerous misinformation about the coronavirus as his father.
