While American entertainment fans remain shattered over the divorce of our collective parents Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, our neighbors across the pond have been emotionally torn apart by The Great British Bake Off.
Following announcements that the show would switch from BBC to Channel 4, two of the hosts quit, quickly followed by a third. The country's morale is in total disarray, and U.S. fans maybe wondering: 1) "What is this show that has the U.K. in disarray?" and 2) "How can I watch it?"
SEE ALSO:Nationwide freakout over 'Great British Bake Off' gets politicalNow, GBBO has definitely claimed cultish fans Stateside, but whether you're late or just arriving to the party, it's a tricky business catching up on the show.
First things first: Exhaust your streaming options -- A.K.A. add it to your Netflix queue (it's listed as The Great British Baking Show). There's one season, which is actually GBBO's fifth season, since it didn't start airing in the States until 2014.
So you've binged Season 1-slash-5, now what? Well, you can fully watch the last three seasons on PBS. They're only available with subscription -- but wait, don't go! A THIRTEEN Passport subscription is donation based, so you can sign up for as little as $5 a month. That's a small price to pay to the distributors who brought us Sherlock and Downton Abbey.
A search for the show on YouTube will reveal selected episodes and extras, while the official channel has teasers and recipes to tide you over.
It's not ideal for catching up on old episodes, but Watch British TV live streams over a dozen U.K. television channels, including BBC One, where GBBOoriginally aired, and Channel 4, its new home. There's also FilmOn, which has a free SD option and requires payment for HD (so you can stream all that baked deliciousness to your TV).
If all else fails, just move to the U.K. With The Great British Brexit happening, flights are cheap, and baked goods are the best way to escape this godforsaken election.
