Reddit's crackdown on violent content continues with the ban of a board called "Involuntary Celibates" /r/Incels in which people posted misogynistic content and even incited rape.

But a quick look on some cached posts shows the board was a hornet's nest for brutal hate content directed at women, who are described as "femoids" or "fembots":

Other posts are titled “all women are sluts" and "females love getting abused by good looking men."
Though the subreddit didn't have a women ban among its rules, it stated:
“Those who continuously claim there are as many female incels in the same situation as male incels will receive a warning and then a ban. Most can agree that women can be incel in some rare situations such as extreme disfigurement, but their numbers do not come close to male incels.”
Sometimes the abusive speech veered on openly advocating rape, as a watchdog subreddit called IncelTears shows:

Last week, there was a post by a guy pretending to be a woman and fishing for ideas on how to get away with rape.
Reddit has recently changed policy on violent content and banned several neo-Nazi pages including e r/NationalSocialism, r/Nazi, and r/whitesarecriminals.
The new policy says: "Do not post content that encourages, glorifies, incites, or calls for violence or physical harm against an individual or a group of people.
A Reddit spokesperson told Mashable:
Reddit is the home to some of the most authentic conversations online. We strive to be a welcoming, open platform for all by trusting our users to maintain an environment that cultivates genuine conversation.
On October 25, 2017, we made the following update to our site-wide policy: content that encourages, glorifies, incites, or calls for violence or physical harm against an individual or a group of people is not allowed on Reddit; neither is content that glorifies or encourages the abuse of animals.
Communities focused on this content and users who post such content will be banned from the site. As of Novermber 7, r/Incels has been banned for violating this policy.
